Peer Review Process

SCHOLEDGE PEER REVIEW MECHANISM

Scholedge International Journals comply with the highest principles of blinded peer review while setting up the scholarly publishing standards and norms thereby increasing the efficiency of the research publication process.

All scholarly works/ research articles published in Scholedge International Journals undergo blind peer review to establish the standardised scholarly research.

  • All research manuscripts are reviewed by at least two qualified and experienced experts.
  • All publication decisions are made by the journals' Editors-in-Chief on the basis of the reviews provided.
  • Members of the respective Scholedge International Journal Editorial Board lend insight, advice and guidance to the Editors-in-Chief generally and to assist decision making in publication process.
  • Managing Editors and Editorial Assistants provide the administrative support that allows Scholedge International Journals to maintain the integrity of peer review while delivering rapid turnaround and maximum efficiency to authors, reviewers and editors alike.
  • Scholedge keeps on going through the Research & Innovation on peer review mechanism to ensure the essence of integration in the scholarly publication.

Scholedge Peer Review Mechanism for referred research papers:

The research articles will promptly be forwarded to the designated Editor who will decide promptly whether to accept, reject, or request revisions of referred papers based on the reviews and editorial insight of the Scholedge Peer Review practices. In addition, Editors will have the option of seeking additional reviews by requesting to the Chief Editor in case of special scrutiny. Authors will be advised accordingly regarding the review status of their research manuscripts.

Scholedge International Journals are fully peer reviewed by at least two appropriately qualified experts in the field selected by the Editor-in-Chief. The Editor-in-Chief or a designated member of the Editorial Board then decide whether to accept, reject or request revisions based on the reviews and comments received. Editors decide whether each submission reports well-conducted research with conclusions supported by the data presented in the paper.

Publication Frequency

The journal is published every month on 10th-11th for the articles/papers reviewed and accepted in the past month.

Open Access Policy

SCHOLEDGE AND OPEN ACCESSIBILITY

Scholedge Publishing is committed to Open Access as a successful method of publishing important scholarly work that serves the needs and ambitions of researchers, institutions and general society. We take an active role in promoting the people, organisations and events that are contributing to the growth of Open Access. We dedicate ourselves to meeting the challenges of making important knowledge available to the worldwide community while maintaining the highest standards in our dealings with authors and institutions.

Articles are widely promoted through email updates, table of contents, email alerts, postings on the Academia homepage, and press releases to the general and scientific press – all resulting in increasing levels of accesses for each article.

CONTENT QUALITY AND OPEN ACCESS

Scholedge Publishing always holds that quality is not compromised while giving an open access. Peer review subjects the manuscripts to a stringent quality check, and a close scrutiny is performed to maintain the quality of the scientific literature. Symbiosis Open Access Journals comply with these procedures and maintain a high quality without compromising on free accessibility.

WHAT IS OPEN ACCESS?

Open access is a movement towards making research publications available to anyone free at the point of access. An open access journal article is free to view online by anyone, including the general public, and can be re-distributed and re-used in more ways than a traditionally published article. Open access is also being provided to thesis, scholarly monographs and books.

Open-access (OA) literature is digital, online, free of charge, and free of most copyright and licensing restrictions. What makes it possible is the Internet and the consent of the author or copyright-holder. OA removes price barriers (subscriptions, licensing fees, pay-per-view fees) and permission barriers (most copyright and licensing restrictions

By reducing the barriers that restrict access to knowledge, Open Access maximizes the opportunity for publications to be read and for authors to be recognized for their contribution in their chosen field and beyond.

ESSENTIALS OF AN OPEN ACCESS PUBLICATION-

The author(s) and copyright holder(s) grant to all users a free, irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual right of access and a license to copy, use, distribute, transmit and display the work publicly and to make and distribute derivative works in any digital medium for any responsible purpose, subject to proper attribution of authorship, as well as the right to make small number of printed copies for their personal use.

A complete version of the work and all supplemental materials, including a copy of the permission as stated above, in a suitable standard electronic format is deposited immediately upon initial publication in at least one online repository that is supported by an academic institution, scholarly society, government agency, or other well-established organization that seeks to enable Open Access, unrestricted distribution, interoperability, and long-term archiving.

Community standards, rather than copyright law such as Creative Commons license, will continue to provide the mechanism for enforcement of proper attribution and responsible use of the published work.

HOW OPEN ACCESS WORKS

The internet allows us to distribute knowledge more widely, more efficiency and at a lower cost than was previously possible. However, publishing still has costs that need to be covered - such as proof reading, copyediting, digital presentation and preservation, promotion and dissemination of your work.

With Open Access, authors (or their institutions or funders) pay an Article Processing Charge to cover these costs, ensuring their work is properly evaluated for quality and made easy to find, download and read. Open Access publishing offers the same indexing, archiving, searching and linking capabilities that are part of conventional publishing. Open Access offers all the benefits of conventional publishing, with much greater readership potential.

Open access journals and books operate under a reversed business model to the traditional subscription-based publishing model. Instead of charging users a fee to read the content, they charge an open access fee at the beginning of the publication process from authors or their funder institutions and this enables all the content to be made freely available.

CREATIVE COMMONS ATTRIBUTION LICENSE AND OPEN ACCESS

Scholedge Publishing complies with the Creative Commons Attribution License to all works it publishes. Under the CCAL, authors retain ownership of the copyright for their article, but authors allow anyone to download, re-use, and reprint, modify, distribute, and/or copy articles so long as the original authors and source are cited. No permission is required from the authors or the publishers.

In most cases, appropriate attribution can be provided by simply citing the original article. If the item you plan to reuse is not part of a published article, then please indicate the originator of the work, and the volume, issue, and date of the journal in which the item appeared. For any reuse or redistribution of a work, you must also make clear the license terms under which the work was published.

This broad license was developed to facilitate Open Access to, and free use of, original works of all types. Applying this standard license to your own work will ensure your right to make your work freely and openly available. If you have queries about the license

BENEFITS OF OPEN ACCESS

Open Access removes permission barriers: unrestricted use of all published material is made possible thanks to flexible intellectual property regulations for authors. Open Access makes knowledge available to all, without the barrier of affordability.

Free availability thanks to unrestricted online access and Increased Citations

Open access publications are freely available online to anyone, which maximizes the visibility, and thus the uptake and use of the work published.

AUTHORS RETAIN COPYRIGHT

The use of a Creative Commons License enables authors/editors to retain copyright to their work. Publications can be reused and redistributed as long as the original author is correctly attributed.

HIGH QUALITY AND RIGOROUS PEER REVIEW

Open access publications run through the same peer review, production and publishing processes than journals and books published under the traditional subscription-based model do.

RAPID PUBLICATION

A streamlined and easy to use online submission and production process enables quick review, approval and publication.

COMPLIANCE WITH OPEN ACCESS MANDATES

Open access publications can comply with open access mandates from funding sources or academic institutions in the fastest and easiest way. Final articles can be deposited into bibliographic databases and institutional repositories without any embargo periods.

CITATION TRACKING AND INCLUSION IN BIBLIOGRAPHIC DATABASES

Open access journals are tracked for impact factors and are deposited into bibliographic databases and institutional repositories without any embargo period just as traditional journals.

THE HIGH AVAILABILITY AND VISIBILITY of our open access articles is guaranteed through the free and unlimited accessibility of the publication over the Internet. Everyone can freely access and download the full text of all articles published by Scholedge Publishing.

THE HIGHER CITATION IMPACT of open access articles results from their high publicity and availability. Open access publications are demonstrably more frequently cited.

The benefits to Open Access are apparent, ease of access being paramount. Using Open Access, anyone with a modicum of search skills can find and use your work, and need not go through a passcode-protected gateway to do so; it is there "for the taking." Thus, dissemination is maximized to the widest audience. Everyone has access, and so scholars around the world can easily find and use your work. As most of us are aware, the process of doing searches for information is both time consuming and frustrating.

One of the great benefits to Open Access is that libraries in smaller institutions or in economically disadvantaged areas around the world can have greater access to these scholarly resources. Benefits include lower costs, greater accessibility, and better prospects for long-term preservation of scholarly works.

OPEN ACCESS SERVES THE INTERESTS OF MANY GROUPS.

AUTHORS:

OA gives them a worldwide audience larger than that of any subscription-based journal, no matter how prestigious or popular, and demonstrably increases the visibility and impact of their work.

READERS:

OA gives them barrier-free access to the literature they need for their research, unconstrained by the budgets of the libraries where they may have access privileges. OA increases reader reach and retrieval power. OA also gives barrier-free access to the software they use in their research. Free online literature is free online data for software that facilitates full-text searching, indexing, mining, summarizing, translating, querying, linking, recommending, alerting, “mash-ups” and other forms of processing and analysis.

TEACHERS AND STUDENTS:

OA puts rich and poor on an equal footing for these key resources and eliminates the need for payments or permissions to reproduce and distribute content. Teaching staff are freely permitted to use the material for teaching, conference presentations, lectures and other non-commercial professional activities.

LIBRARIES:

OA solves the pricing crisis for scholarly journals. OA also serves library interests in other, indirect ways. Librarians want to help users find the information they need, regardless of the budget-enforced limits on the library’s own collection. Academic librarians want to help faculty increase their audience and impact, and help the university raise its research profile.

By eliminating subscription fees, the Open Access model makes it possible for libraries to connect readers to high quality content and expand their catalogs at no cost.

The material stored in our database is exclusively in PDF format and libraries are permitted to link this database, to self-archive all or part of the content and print or photocopy for the private use of patrons on condition that the original authors and the source are given credit.

UNIVERSITIES:

OA increases the visibility of their faculty and research, reduces their expenses for journals, and advances their mission to share knowledge.

JOURNALS AND PUBLISHERS:

OA makes their articles more visible, discoverable, retrievable, and useful. If a journal is OA, then it can use this superior visibility to attract submissions and advertising, not to mention readers and citations. If a subscription-based journal provides OA to some of its content (e.g. selected articles in each issue, all back issues after a certain period, etc.), then it can use its increased visibility to attract all the same benefits plus subscriptions. If a journal permits OA through postprint archiving, then it has an edge in attracting authors over journals that do not permit postprint archiving. Of course subscription-based journals and their publishers have countervailing interests as well and often resist or oppose OA. But it oversimplifies the situation to think that all their interests pull against OA.

FUNDING AGENCIES:

OA increases the return on their investment in research, making the results of the funded research more widely available, more discoverable, more retrievable, and more useful. When funding agencies disburse public funds, OA helps in a second way as well, by providing fundamental fairness to taxpayers or public access to the results of publicly-funded research.

GOVERNMENTS:

As funders of research, governments benefit from OA in all the ways that funding agencies do (see previous entry). OA also promotes democracy by sharing non-classified government information as widely as possible.

CITIZENS:

OA gives them access to peer-reviewed research, most of which is unavailable in public libraries, and gives them access to the research for which they have already paid through their taxes. But even those with no interest in reading this literature for themselves will benefit indirectly because researchers will benefit directly. OA accelerates not only research but the translation of research into new medicines, useful technologies, solved problems, and informed decisions that benefit everyone.
